FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) and FUT (Follicular Unit Transplant) are two hair transplant techniques that differ in how they extract hair follicles. FUE extracts individual follicles, while FUT removes a strip of scalp containing follicles. FUE results in minimal scarring, while FUT can leave a linear scar.
A strip of scalp is removed from the donor area, and follicles are dissected from the strip.
A linear scar is left where the strip was removed.
Longer recovery time compared to FUE.
Generally less expensive than FUE.
Patients with extensive hair loss who need a larger number of grafts, or those who prefer a more cost-effective option.
